(Ministry In Mission In Christ)

Visitors Group for MIMIC
February 24, 2008

Things to do:  ideas under those topics

Environment

Clean out coat closets in Narthex  --- Sandy Mercer, Doris Henke, Kathy Smith       (done)

Audit of what visitors see and what we want them to see from when they enter the parking lot to when they leave the church -  what signage is needed --  John List

• signage in Narthex and outside
• white board as you enter the Narhex
• welcome sign at school entrance
• sign for Sunday school classes – where, who, what grades etc. - perhaps pictures of the  teachers with grades and location of class
• reserved parking for visitors
• signage for church entrance
Information for Visitors  --- Emily Tomes, Paul Tomes, and Cindy Bauer
• map in pews or on back of bulletin
• pamphlet in pews telling what St. Paul is all about
• take some of the Bibles and hymnals out of the pews
• up-dateable information about St. Paul activities in the pew or at the guest   book
Process  & Staffing
Process Mechanics ---  Ken Wichman & Gates Smith
• Checklist for greeters and/or ushers  --- coffee supervision, doors open and/or locked etc.
• Get visitors to sign register – pedestal moved to reception line - done
• Pastor reminds congregation to sign attendance book
• email chain to let people know there were visitors and some information about them -  they would then volunteer to send a letter or go see them etc.
• We need a process/mechanics we can apply   ____________ to “being  friendly”
• We need to get to Measured Results
• A  system --- not complicated  -- what do we know? How many visitors?  Early/late?  Etc.
Other
• sound board so all can hear – refer to Communication Group
• rope off back pews
• have a greeting time at prior to service or as you are leaving
• change front entrance of church so visitors have parking  -- where old half  circle was
• consider changing the doors to the sanctuary so they swing both ways so as not to block  the “Welcome” board
