The Son . . . represented by the lamb, Jesus Christ, sacrificed
in our place on the altar of Calvary. “Behold, the Lamb of God, which taketh

The Spirit . . . shown by the dove that appeared at the baptism
of the Savior. “Lo, the heavens were opened unto Him, and He saw the Spirit
of God descending like a dove.” Matthew 3:16 |

The Word . . . represented by the ancient oil lamp referred
to by the Psalmist who wrote: “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light
unto my path.” Psalm 119:105 |

Holy Baptism . . . symbolized by the scallop shell used
in olden times for pouring water. “Arise, and be baptized and wash away
they sins, calling on the name of the Lord.” Acts 22:16 |

Holy Communion . . . seen in the host and chalice of the
Lord’s Supper. “Take eat; this is my body . . . drink; this is my
blood of the new testament, which is shed for the remission of sins.”

Saint Paul . . . the namesake of this congregation , symbolized
traditionally by the sword lying in the open Scriptures. It was Paul who
called the Word of God “the sword of the Spirit.” Ephesians 6:17 |
