Day one – Burkina Faso Travel Team
The Burkina Faso Mission Team arrived safely in Paris on schedule to
a wet and cold weather reception. Temperatures are in the 40's with overcast
skies and light rain but the teams spirits aren't to be dampened. A little
tired from a 7-hr overnight flight the team made their way through the
Charles DE Galle airport to their next gate and made camp for the 8-hr
layover. Several team members are using this time to catch a nap prior
to the next 6-hr leg of our trip to Ouagadouguo, Burkina Faso, our final
destination.
With the help of our ground support crew in Cincinnati, including ticket
handler Geri Preisser, St. Paul Village bus driver Dan Tomes, and baggage
deliverer Soozie Tomes, the team checked in at CVG with their 19 stow away
bins filled with books, toothbrushes, toothpaste, games and school supplies,
clothing, shoes, tools and a variety of snacks to share. Total check-in
weight came to just under 1/2 ton of supplies to distribute to the people
of Burkina Faso. The generosity of so many people was overwhelming and
a source inspiration to the team.
A sense of exhilaration and anticipation is rampant amongst the team
members as they get closer to the mission that started just 8 weeks ago.
God has richly blessed the team members during their preparation and continues
to bless the travel. All that they ask now is for your prayerful support
throughout this next week. Pictures of the team launch and landings will
follow once the team links up with Pastor James May in Ouagaduoguo.
